Covid 19 Research Opportunities

The practice is supporting research into the effect of, and treatment solutions for, Covid 19.  Here are a few of the current opportunities. To participate, follow the individual links.  Other research opportunities may become available.  We may offer you an opportunity to join a study or you can ask us if there are any available if you see or speak to a GP.

  • PRINCIPLE

This trial from the University of Oxford is investigating whether different medication can help reduce the duration and severity of Covid 19 symptoms. People aged 65 and over, and aged 50 to 64 with certain long term health conditions, who have had a positive Covid 19 test in the last 15 days, or are experiencing symptoms of less than 15 days duration, may be able to participate.  For more information and to find out if you are eligible please follow this:  https://www.principletrial.org/participants

  • Blood Plasma Research

NHS Blood and Transplant needs people who have recovered from COVID-19 to donate blood plasma (convalescent plasma). Plasma that contains sufficient levels of antibodies can be used for patients being treated with COVID-19. These antibodies may help patients to recover from Coronavirus by supporting their immune response.  Further information can be found here: https://www.nhsbt.nhs.uk/covid-19-research/plasma-programme/

Musculoskeletal Practitioner Service

We now offer a musculoskeletal practitioner service.

If you have suffered an injury or want advice on how to manage a joint pain, you can book an appointment with a practitioner directly through reception. You do not need to see a doctor first in order to book an appointment.

There is lots of great advice and exercises on www.harrogatehealthhub.co.uk This resource has been created and managed by the Physiotherapy Team at Harrogate Hospital.

You can now book appointments directly with a musculoskeletal practitioner at North House Surgery. These appointments allow the practitioner to assess, diagnose and offer advice and education on how to manage joint and muscle aches and pains. Initially you will receive a telephone consultation with the practitioner but then a face to face appointment will be offered if appropriate.

We are proud to have served the Ripon community for over 100 years. With a large on-site car park, we are located within the city centre on North Street (HG4 1HL) and offer:
