If you are managing the health of another, you can apply for proxy access. This provides access to the person's online account for:
- book and view appointments
- order medication
- access to medical records
Proxy access on behalf of children
People with parental responsibility for children have rights to access their children’s records. This is in most cases but is not automatic and not all parents will have parental responsibility. Proxy access for parents or guardian to a child’s record is a practice-level decision and requires an appointment for discussion between the GP and the young person if the person is aged 11 to 16.

Proxy access on behalf of another adult
An adult (age 16 or over) may given informed consent for any other person to access online services on their behalf. This is the recommended alternative to the sharing of login or password details for their own personal access.
For some online services to work correctly, the person having the access must be registered as a patient at the same practice where the patient they are acting for is registered.
